Beyond the claim / Meritus Via

Put the lessons
of claims to work.

An instruction left in an inbox. A programme that stopped reflecting the work. A change whose cost was recognised too late. Claims show us where control is lost. Our practitioners and in-house engineers put that knowledge into better ways of working.

The ambition is practical: protect margin, strengthen tenders and give experienced people more time for the work that needs their judgement.

Put this insight to work

The same expertise.
Applied earlier.

Meritus was founded on the conviction that experience should change how the work is done. The same disciplines that investigate a claim can help a contractor recognise the weak points earlier: who owns the decision, where the evidence sits and what the next person needs to act.

We visit your projects, speak with the team and follow the work from tender through to delivery and final account. We look at the opportunities you pursue, what clients expect and where time, information or commercial control is being lost.

Our engineers then work with our construction practitioners to implement the improvement. We start with the process that needs attention, adapt existing components and connect them to the tools your people already use.

The work we can improve

From a scattered record
to a working process.

Software developed in-house, adapted around the work your team needs to do. VeriCase and our operational systems provide the building blocks; Foresight illustrates the commercial connection. Bespoke site-access design extends that thinking to workforce records and entry decisions.

Correspondence & commercial control

The instruction is in one inbox. Its consequences are being discussed in three others.

Bring correspondence from multiple accounts into a record of individual messages, retaining dates, participants and source context. Connect the relevant exchange to an issue, its supporting records and the action a commercial team needs to consider. Our Foresight demonstration illustrates that journey from scattered correspondence to a proposed action for review.

Give the commercial team a clearer basis to assess change and act while the record is still current.

Drawing-led issues, pricing & approvals

A photograph shows a defect. It does not tell everyone who must respond, what has been priced or whether the work has been accepted.

Locate the issue on a drawing, assign the team and due date, then keep photographs, comments and progress with that record. Submit a supported price for commercial review under separate approval permissions. Submit the completed work for its own review, with an acceptance or a request for further work recorded against the issue.

Keep the location, responsibility, price decision and completion decision connected, with each decision recorded separately.

Land search & decision reports

Potential sites arrive from different sources and are difficult to compare or revisit.

We develop land search and reporting around the team’s acquisition criteria, with location and radius searches, map and list views, saved shortlists and report histories. Sources and filters are configured for the questions the team needs to answer.

A structured shortlist and report to inform the planning, title and technical due diligence behind an acquisition decision.

Workforce readiness & training

Qualifications, expiry dates, induction and attendance are managed separately, leaving managers to assemble the picture.

Link people and companies to sites, bring qualifications and expiry dates into view, and record site-specific induction. Keep training materials, questions and completion records alongside attendance and the workforce calendar. Give managers a clear view of outstanding requirements and the people responsible for addressing them.

Less repeated checking and a usable record of readiness, learning and attendance. Training completion informs the review of competence; it does not replace it.

Bespoke site-access design

An attendance record and a gate reader can tell different stories about who is on site and whether entry requirements are met.

Our designs connect workforce requirements, access events and attendance. Cards or fobs provide the primary method, with optional facial recognition, registered readers and a record of exceptions. We scope the hardware, site rules and integration for the project.

Connect the entry decision with the records behind it, and reconcile access events with attendance.

Documents, forms & management oversight

Teams re-enter the same information while managers and clients ask for another version of the update.

Organise drawings and revisions, publish controlled documents, use consistent forms and give each role the information relevant to its work. Bring issues, approvals, learning and attendance into management views. Reuse the resulting project records to explain delivery methods and relevant experience in future tenders.

A more consistent working record, clearer responsibilities and less time spent assembling routine updates.

The right building blocks.
Fitted to your business.

Your business already has working knowledge, people and systems worth keeping. We start there. Our existing components give us a practical foundation for focused development, integration and automation around the work that needs to change.

Visit the work

Meet the people running the business and visit selected projects. Follow a real issue, approval or report through the team. Review the tenders you pursue, wins and losses, programmes and what clients ask you to demonstrate.

Choose one problem

Agree where an improvement would matter and establish a baseline: the time spent finding a record, repeated entry or the interval between an issue and a decision. Define the outcome and the people who will own it.

Adapt and connect

Start with the systems that already work and the components we have built. Adapt the workflow, connect the existing records and develop what is missing. The scope can be one process, one team or one project.

Train, hand over and review

Introduce the change on real work, train the people using it and hand over clear responsibilities. Review the agreed measure with the team, refine the process and decide where the next improvement belongs.

Start with one problem. Measure the change. Put the next lesson to work.

Software developed in-house

Systems built around real work.

A site issue, followed through.

A drawing location, a named team, a supported price and a completion decision belong in the same history. Our operational software connects those steps while preserving the separate reviews each requires.

Explore the illustrative scenario to see how a photograph becomes a task, a response and a recorded decision. We configure the workflow, roles and permissions around the business.

Give the issue its context.

Locate the issue on a drawing and attach a description and photographs. Keep the location and the evidence together so the project team can understand what has been raised.

Evidence & claims

VeriCase

VeriCase brings individual messages, documents and project records into the investigation. Source-linked chronologies, programme comparison and specialist analysis help practitioners test the position. That depth of evidence work informs how we design the records and workflows that produce it.

Project oversight / demonstration

Foresight

Foresight is a demonstration of the commercial connection: messages across inboxes become a recognisable issue, with the relevant record and a proposed action for review. Its illustrative scenarios help a team see where this approach could fit its own projects.

Start with the claim in front of you.

Claims and disputes remain at the centre of Meritus. Speak with a partner about the position, the evidence and any approaching deadline.

Discuss your matter

Give your expertise more room.

Bring us the process that consumes time, obscures the position or holds the team back. We will help define a practical starting point and the change worth making.
